Happy Spring!

I am always looking to learn more and am happier with in person learning rather than online. Over the past couple of months I was given a unexpected opportunity to learn directly from one of the most acclaimed automotive photographers in the industry, Michael Furman. Michael's photos are not simply snap shots of cars, they are truly automotive portraits. He has photographed many high-profile collections, published numerous books, and started his own publishing company.

Earlier this year I attended a presentation he gave for the Larz Anderson Auto Museum (lucky me that he couldn't be there in person so it was opened up to more attendees via Zoom). Michael took questions and I asked, as a newer automotive photographer, if there was a group or association he would recommend reaching out to for a portfolio review - he offered to do one! So I spent an hour on the phone with him while he looked over my website and at the end of it he invited me out for his next shoot at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. So I headed out to Philadelphia one Friday morning and got to see "behind the curtain" and watch a master work. What an amazing experience - I learned so much and was also given incredibly helpful feedback on some of my images. I'm looking forward to applying what I learned not only in my automotive photography, but also in my still life work.

Beach

I didn't manage to get out as much as I would have liked over the past few months, but I did catch one really cool foggy afternoon on the river.

I'm trying my hand at vending this year and am registered for 2 events that are coupled with car shows. Come check out my Beach & "Metal" prints (See flyers below).

Later sunsets, warmer breezes, flowers blooming, cars cruising! Car shows & cruises are starting up and I made it to the Asbury Circuit for opening night on March 14th. It was a beautiful night with a good assortment of rides and I got to meet some new people, touch base with some others, and check out some awesome cars. Fingers crossed our Firebird makes it there soon.

Looking forward to more cruise nights, cars & coffees, and shows!
