The part of the shore of an ocean, river, lake, etc., washed by the tide or waves.

Walking barefoot in the sand with a shell in my pocket does wonders for my soul. Being near water is a huge part of my life, be it the ocean beach, the boardwalk, a bay-side marsh trail, a river park, or even a woodland stream. Its a place of transition where the energy is calming, fun is to be had, and memories made.
